Hello, I'm Brian

After 24 years of pushing limits as an engineer and project manager in Las Vegas, I needed a change. Two days in on a November 2020 scouting trip, I instinctively knew Guadalajara would be a good fit. By August 2021, I turned that spark into a reality, embracing something completely different in this vibrant city. Best decision ever that continues to be better than I initially imagined.

I am a traveler at heart and love exploring cultures, discovering new places, meeting new people, and sharing experiences. So far, I have experienced 47/50 US states and 38 countries, mostly on my own, with little more than a backpack, sense of adventure, and a lot of trust. By far my best memories/experiences have come from the incredible hospitality I have received staying with people in their homes versus hostels and hotels. Fast forward, I now live in a city I love and am making the time to pass that hospitality forward.

Experience Guadalajara like a local at my updated personal colonial era residence in the heart of Centro Histórico Guadalajara. The area is vibrant, safe and walkable to all major attractions. Staying with me over a hotel or AirBnb gives you access to my local insights and my network of friends/resources.

Sure you can stay in a hotel or Airbnb and spend hours and hours reading, scouring FB groups, watching YouTube videos, planning and figuring out what to do in a destination. But why?-- Especially when locals already know the place much better and can share their experiences, valuable insights and nuances of daily life beyond what most on-line guides or YouTube videos cover. This is especially important for those considering relocating and integrating to Guadalajara as I have. This is where my homestay can be incredibly helpful and a much better value than any hotel or AirBnb at twice the price.

My Hosting History

Twenty four years in Las Vegas has been an awesome hospitality training ground. What I see missing for many travelers is curated guidance based on how you want to explore and/or integrate into a new city like Guadalajara. Since 2022, I have welcomed over 40 volunteers, travelers, and visitors from around the world in my home.
